Irrigating turfgrass with treated effluent water has become a common practice in response to shrinking supplies of potable water. Treated water used for turfgrass irrigation contains both nutrients and salts and concerns related to salinity, sodicity, and bicarbonates arise. In this 60-minute webinar, Elena Sevostianova, Ph.D., explains more, sharing strategies that include leaching with irrigation water and soil monitoring. She will also discuss how using appropriate turf species and varieties can help address these problems.
