About the instructor

Jim Ferrin CGCSJim Ferrin, CGCS, is superintendent and director of landscapes for the Sun City Roseville Community Association. He earned his bachelors from the University of California at San Diego, first achieved Certification in 1992 and is also a Certified Community Association Manager. Ferrin is a past President of the Sierra Nevada GCSA and currently serves as Secretary Treasurer of the California GCSA. He has hosted several high-profile events including the 2004 Sacramento Open – Canadian PGA Tour, USGA sectional and regional qualifying for the Men’s and Women’s U.S. Open. Ferrins’ numerous awards include co-recipient of the 2014 Leo Feser Award presented in recognition of the best superintendent-written article in Golf Course Management magazine.
