Stephen WillefordStephen Willeford ran from his home in his bare feet on Nov. 5, 2017 when he heard shots being fired at the nearby church. After an exchange of gunfire, the wounded attacker attempted to make his escape by driving off, but Willeford was not going to allow him to hurt anyone else and flagged down a passerby who Willeford recruited into making a high-speed pursuit. They eventually caught up with the assailant and covered him until police were able to arrive.
