About the Instructor
James A. Murphy, Ph.D., earned his bachelor's at Western Illinois University and master's and Ph.D. at Michigan State University. Murphy’s research interests include understanding the role that cultural management practices can play for improving the stress tolerance and persistence of turf. He serves as the Rutgers University liaison to both the GCSA of New Jersey and the New Jersey Turfgrass Association. Murphy has received numerous awards including the Hall of Fame Award from the New Jersey Turfgrass Association. He has been a GCSAA faculty member since the mid-1990s, teaching both seminars and webinars.
