About the Instructors

John Cunningham, CGCSJohn Cunningham, CGCS, is currently the General Manager/COO at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Penn. He earned his degree in agronomy from Valencia College in Orlando, Florida, and has been a Certified Golf Course Superintendent since 2003. Cunningham spent the first 10-plus years of his career in Florida, most notably at Black Diamond Ranch a 45-hole, top-100 golf facility. He then joined the Four Seasons Resort and Club in Dallas, Texas, then accepted the position as Assistant General Manager/Director of Agronomy at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Mo.

Pat Finlen, CGCSPat Finlen, CGCS, is a past president of GCSAA and General Manager/COO at the Winchester Country Club in Meadow Vista, Calif. He earned his degree in business administration from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Mo., and has been a Certified Golf Course Superintendent since 1989. Finlen started his career in 1984, working as a superintendent in Kansas City then in Virginia Beach, Va. He was the director of golf course maintenance at Bayonet & Black Horse in Seaside, Calif., then hired as the director of golf maintenance operations for The Olympic Club in San Francisco where he quickly earned several promotions.
